In your life, in your relationships, or while you’re leading, do you ever feel completely alone?

It’s so easy for the mundaneness of life to set in and for internal or external pressures to make you feel isolated.

But as believers in Jesus who have received the Holy Spirit within us, our story should be different.

In the Old Testament, God made the command to Moses to build a tabernacle for Him where He could dwell amongst His people (Ex. 25:8). But now, God no longer dwells in a building made by the hands of man; He dwells within you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16).

Here are three amazing truths about the ever-close Holy Spirit.

1. The Holy Spirit is a Person.

One of the most common misconceptions is that the Holy Spirit is an ‘it’ or simply a power. He has power and loves to demonstrate it (Acts 1:8, Acts 3:12), but in relating to the Holy Spirit merely as a power that we want to attain, we neglect a glorious dimension of the relationship with God that we have been invited into.

2. The Holy Spirit has a Personality.

Many characteristics of personality are ascribed to the Holy Spirit; He speaks (Rev. 2:7), He searches (1 Cor 2:10), He prays (Rom. 8:26), He instructs (Jn. 16:12-14), He feels (Is. 58:10). It’s not wrong or burdensome to ask God to give us the power of the Holy Spirit (Mt. 7:7-11), but He’s also already living inside of you speaking, searching, praying, and feeling deeply about every area of your life (Psalm 139).

As God, the third person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit is worthy of worship, adoration, thanksgiving and honor, just like the Father and the Son. Click To Tweet
3. The Holy Spirit is Worthy of Worship.

As God, the third person of the trinity, the Holy Spirit is worthy of worship, adoration, thanksgiving and honor, just like the Father and the Son. You owe your salvation to the workings of the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, you would be bound for Hell (Jn. 16:7-11). Christ within you is worthy of your worship.

Even on your worst day, you are not alone. The person of the Holy Spirit is always with you. I encourage you to begin talking to the One who will never leave you or forsake you.
