Lately I’ve been captured by God the Creator. I know it might sound elementary. It might sound really common, something every good Sunday school kid could raise their hand and say…In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. God made everything. We knowthis, right?

The identity of the one speaking makes a significant impact on what is said. Two people can say the exact same phrase yet the outcome and impact can be drastically different. For example: I can talk about a solution for our economy and then the President could say the exact same thing yet the impact is greater when he speaks. Why? Because of his identity. As the President he has the ability to bring to pass the statements made. I do not.

As I think about the question “What has kept my heart alive in prayer?” I get a little overwhelmed. It’s like I’m opening up the journal of my life. There have been many “motivations” that have caused me to persevere in my pursuit of the Lord. Some of them right and good and godly but others of them were nothing more than pride and selfish ambition.
